Mists over the Channel Islands A Novel of World War II by Sarah Sundin

Mists over the Channel Islands was a solid, thoughtful WWII read set in a lesser-known part of the war. I appreciated learning about the German occupation of the Channel Islands and how everyday life was shaped by fear, shortages, and hard choices.

Ivy was a strong, believable main character, and I liked that the story focused more on quiet courage and endurance than nonstop action. The tension in this book builds slowly, but it works. Gerrit’s role added an extra layer of suspense.

Overall, this is a character-driven, well-researched novel that works best if you enjoy slower WWII fiction with emotional depth.

I receive complimentary books from various sources, including NetGalley, authors, and others. I am not required to write a positive review, and I have not received any compensation for my thoughts.
